Meditation with Herbs
Kay Parent, Community Herbalist RH(AHG)
Tuesdays 6:30-7:30am, June 5-June 26
$10 cash or check only.  Drop ins welcome.

Before humans evolved on the earth, herbs were poised to serve us both physically and energetically.

Each week we will meditate with different herbs after a brief introduction of their healing properties and how they interact with different parts of our body and spirit. A sip of tea from the meditation herb will end each class. Beginners welcome. Previous meditation and herbal experience not necessary.

BIO - A practicing herbalist and mentor in Newport RI since 1996, Kay sits with clients in her loft seeing ways to 'the heart of the matter'. Since the early 90's she has been called and intensely engaged in understanding the specifice properties of plants and their energetics for healing. Her internships and training have also focused on: Seeing subtle changes in bodily appearance and gestures.
Using pulse, tongue and facial lines to better see the body. Honing a natural intuitive ability. Engaging in years of daily experience with clients.
Making custom herbal formulations, and Integrating how all of these relate to the unique life of each person.

Kay grew up in the Pacific Northwest and brings a Bachelors in Education, a Masters in Art Education and two decades of calligraphy practice and teaching to an understanding and compassion for each individual's creative learning and healing process.

Since 2005 in addition to her private herbal counseling practice she has offered a monthly Community Clinic where clients are seen on a sliding scale by Kay and a group of herbal practitioners who are themselves being mentored and developing their own
unique skills.

To her teachers she is profoundly grateful for their generosity of spirit, time and patience: Rosemary Gladstar, Matthew Wood,  William LeSassier, Keewaydinoquay, Eileen Caddy of Findhorn, Lloyd Reynolds, the plants themselves & especially to Margi Flint and Karyn Sanders for their continued mentoring, encouragement and support.
