Month 2: Spanda: Consciousness as Pulsation: The Ecstastic Pulsation of Reality
Life throbs, pulses, vibrates. We see this in the beat of our heart, in the waves upon the shore, in the the harp string plucked by the musician’s hands. Just as our world pulsates, the Tantric tradition says so too does the Supreme Consciousness itself. As we attune and embody consciously to the pulsation of life, we attune ourselves to the vast cosmic intelligence, the divine itself.

Month 3: Soma: Consciousness as Wholeness: The Nectar of Wholeness

The practice of yoga is to rediscover, to remember that we are whole, full, and lacking nothing. In the depth of practice, consciousness heals, restores, and reveals the deepest knowing and experience of this. We become embodiments of the fullness of our being.

Sara Davidson Flanders, ERYT-500, YACEP, began her study of yoga and meditation in 1992. Her extensive asana training includes Anusara, therapeutics, vinyasa, and prenatal yoga. In 2007 she became a certified Anusara yoga teacher. Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies. The first chapter of her meditation studies was an immersion into Buddhism which included four years living in a residential meditation center. Then in 2007, she met her teacher, Paul Muller Ortega, and has been practicing and studying in the tradition of non-dual Shaiva Shakta Tantra ever since. She is an authorized teacher of Neelakantha Meditation, as taught by Blue Throat Yoga. Her yoga and meditation teachings and trainings clarify the various streams of yoga lineage and tradition, through wisdom texts and practices. Sara is a storyteller who brings the ancient teachings alive and reveals their astonishing and compelling relevancy for our modern lives.
