Intro to Kundalini Yoga and Meditation

Mary will lead these two Intro classes, each comprised of the history of kundalini yoga, postures, pranayama (breath work), and meditation with and without mantras.

Kundalini Yoga is a combination of movement, breath, meditation, and chanting. Its goal is not only to make the body stronger and more energetic, but also to increase your level of self-awareness and consciousness.

Mary will teach a regular weekly class beginning July 14, Thursdays 6-7:15pm.


Mary Brakenhoff

Bio: In addition to being a passionate Kundalini Yoga teacher, Mary is a Reiki Master, and a Core Energetics Practitioner. A dedicated student of various forms of yoga for over 20 years, Mary was so moved by the profound, creative, energetic practice of Kundalini Yoga, that she was inspired to train to be a Kundalini teacher in 2010.
She is fascinated by the healthful affects of moving energy throughout the body, which is the cornerstone of her various disciplines. In addition to being a teacher and practitioner, Mary is a dedicated student, always humbled by her own personal practice, and thus able to relate to her students and clients on a human level.
Some of her teachers include, Reinette Fournier,
Hari Kaur, Hari Kirin Kaur, Snatam Kaur,
Shanti Shanti Kaur and Guru Singh.
Mary brings an authentic, humorous spirit to her classes, and feels incredibly honored to be witness to the growth and healing process of her students. She gives her whole heart to her work and her family, having raised six wonderful children with her husband. She welcomed her seventh grandchild this winter!
